Ingredients
- 1 large head Cauliflower
- 1 1/4 cup (300 ml) Water
- 1 cup (130 g) Whole White Wheat Flour
- 1/4 tsp White Pepper powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt (opt)
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
Bbq sauce
- 8 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) Water
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup (or date syrup)
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp Molasses
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce, Tamari or Coconut Aminos
- 4 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
- 4 drops Tabasco
- 1 tbsp Coconut Sugar
- 1 pinch Sea Salt (opt)
- 1/2 tsp Paprika Powder
Preparation
Divide the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and smoked paprika to form a batter, ensuring it is liquid enough for excess to drip off when dipping.
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter and shake off any excess.
Place the battered florets on a baking sheet.
Bake for about 17 minutes or until the desired color is reached.
Coat the baked cauliflower florets with the prepared BBQ sauce, ensuring even coverage.
Return the coated cauliflower to the baking sheet and bake for another 7 minutes.
Turn on the grill (broil) function and bake for an additional 2 minutes.
Bbq sauce
In a bowl, combine all the BBQ sauce ingredients and whisk until well mixed.
Taste the sauce and add liquid smoke if a stronger smoke flavor is desired.
