Vegan Garlic Knots

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp quick rising yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • pinch of salt
  • Topping
  • 3 tbsp vegan butter - used miyokos
  • dried parsley
  • dried oregano
  • 3 garlic cloves minced

Preparation

  1. Mix yeast w water, set aside wait for it to bubble

  2. After 10 minutes mix the flour and salt with the yeast/water. And knead the dough for 10 minutes till it’s stretchy and forms a ball

  3. Place dough into a clean bowl coated w olive oil and cover it with towel, place in a warm place and allow it to rise double in size. Takes about an hour

  4. Once dough is good to go, place it on a floured surface and roll it out to a rounded rectangle. That’s about 1/2 inch thick. Also preheat oven to 400F

  5. Using a pizza cutter or knife make vertical strips, then once down the middle so you double the amount of strips. Swipe for the photo of the cut lines

  6. Take each strip of dough and roll it with your hands and stretch it out enough that you can tie it into a knot. be gentle with the dough so it doesn't break

  7. Place the knots onto a baking sheet lightly coat each knot with olive oil and bake for 15 minutes

  8. Prepare topping by mixing all ingredients together and melt the butter in microwave. Then once knots are done baking brush the topping onto the knots! I also added my homemade vegan parmesan made with cahsews! Serve warm & you could pair with some marinara sauce for an extra touch
