Baked Coconut Caramel Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup coconut

Caramel sauce

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup cream

Preparation

  1. Position the rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Prepare an 8-inch pan and line it with a piece of aluminum foil.

  3. In a wide skillet, place the butter and set the skillet on medium heat until the butter melts. Add the milk and stir with a wooden spoon until it releases aroma and becomes golden.

  4. In a mixer bowl, place the eggs, vanilla, sugar, and coconut. Attach the mixing beater and mix on medium speed for two minutes until combined. Add the milk mixture and mix on medium speed for one minute. Pour the mixture into the pan and use the back of a wooden spoon to smooth.

  5. Bake the coconut dessert for 35 minutes until golden brown.

  6. For the caramel sauce, in a medium saucepan, place the sugar and set the saucepan on medium heat until the sugar dissolves and becomes light brown. Add the cream, stirring quickly with a wooden spoon until the sauce forms.

  7. Spread the caramel sauce over the coconut dessert and let it cool completely on the kitchen counter.

  8. Using a sharp knife, cut the coconut caramel dessert into squares or as desired, then serve.
