Brazilian Layered Cream Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (12g) package gelatin, any flavor
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, drained
  • 7 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preparation

  1. Place sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, cornstarch, and milk in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring until thickened

  2. Pour into a glass bowl or individual glasses, filling only one-third full, and let cool

  3. Prepare gelatin according to package instructions and let cool

  4. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then add drained heavy cream and sugar, and beat until combined

  5. Gently pour the cooled gelatin over the first cream layer

  6. Carefully spread the egg white mixture over the gelatin layer

  7. Refrigerate until the gelatin is set and serve
