Shrimp and Mushroom Spaghetti Carbonara

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti, as needed (angel hair variety, Prego brand)
  • Olive oil, as needed
  • Chopped garlic
  • Chopped holland onion
  • Peeled shrimp
  • Drained button mushrooms from tin or sliced shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 small box whipping cream (any brand, e.g., Anchor)
  • 1/2 small box full cream milk (any brand, e.g., Dutch Lady)
  • Grated mozzarella cheese, to taste
  • Black pepper (Aji-Shio brand)

Garnishes

  • Chilli flakes (McCormick brand)
  • Finely chopped parsley leaves or oregano leaves or coriander, choose one

Preparation

  1. Boil spaghetti until soft, drain, and set aside

  2. Pour olive oil into a pan, heat, and sauté garlic and holland onion until fragrant

  3. Add shrimp and sliced mushrooms

  4. When shrimp is cooked, add whipping cream and full cream milk

  5. Season with salt to taste

  6. Add black pepper

  7. Add cheese and when the sauce thickens, add spaghetti and mix together

  8. Serve on a plate and garnish with chilli flakes and parsley leaves
