Ingredients
- 3 large handfuls fresh basil
- One handful pine nuts or walnuts
- 1 clove garlic
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup oil (not olive oil)

- Pasta of choice (e.g., spaghetti, fettuccine, rotini)

Preparation
Blend the basil, pine nuts or walnuts, garlic, salt, and oil until smooth.
Transfer the pesto to a bowl.
Add parmesan cheese, butter, and hot water from cooking pasta, then stir to emulsify.
Cook the pasta in boiling water according to package instructions.
Toss the cooked pasta with the pesto mixture.
