Date Triangles with Nuts
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed plain biscuits
- 2 cups pitted dates
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 1/4 cup ground pistachios
Preparation
Bring a large piece of parchment paper and sprinkle the biscuits on it
In a wide bowl, place the dates, butter, and cardamom, then rub the dates with your hands to form a smooth paste
Spread the date mixture into a 10 by 7 inch rectangle over the biscuits and sprinkle the almonds and pistachios
Roll the date mixture into a log, hold the edge of the paper, and roll it while pressing slightly so the biscuits stick to the dates
Shape the roll into a triangle, wrap it in parchment paper, and place it in the fridge for one hour
Remove the wrapping, use a sharp knife to cut into 1/2 inch thick triangles, place on a serving dish, and serve
