Date Triangles with Nuts

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed plain biscuits
  • 2 cups pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup soft butter
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup ground pistachios

Preparation

  1. Bring a large piece of parchment paper and sprinkle the biscuits on it

  2. In a wide bowl, place the dates, butter, and cardamom, then rub the dates with your hands to form a smooth paste

  3. Spread the date mixture into a 10 by 7 inch rectangle over the biscuits and sprinkle the almonds and pistachios

  4. Roll the date mixture into a log, hold the edge of the paper, and roll it while pressing slightly so the biscuits stick to the dates

  5. Shape the roll into a triangle, wrap it in parchment paper, and place it in the fridge for one hour

  6. Remove the wrapping, use a sharp knife to cut into 1/2 inch thick triangles, place on a serving dish, and serve
