Baked Apricot Puff Pastry Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry squares
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, halved
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons milk

For serving

  • Fine sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C and prepare a shallow-rimmed baking sheet.

  2. Cut the puff pastry into 4 small squares.

  3. Spread a thin layer of jam on each piece of dough, then place a piece of apricot and seal the opposite sides well.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk and milk.

  5. Using a small brush, spread a light layer of the egg and milk mixture on the surface of the dough.

  6. Bake for 7-10 minutes until golden brown, then sprinkle with some fine sugar and serve cold.
