Brazilian St Anthony Cake with Dulce De Leche

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Filling

  • 1 can dulce de leche

Preparation

  1. Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks and set aside

  2. Beat the egg whites in a mixer until stiff peaks form

  3. Add the egg yolks one at a time while the mixer is running

  4. Once combined, turn off the mixer and gently fold in the sugar, flour, and water from bottom to top

  5. Add the baking powder and mix well

  6. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan

  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for approximately 35 minutes

  8. Let the cake cool completely

  9. Cut the cake in half

  10. Fill the cake with dulce de leche
