Cheese Buns
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/4 cup corn oil
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2.5 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons milk powder
Glazing
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
Filling
- 1.5 cups feta cheese
- 1 egg white
- 1 cup chopped parsley
Decoration
- sesame seeds
- nigella seeds
Preparation
Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let it activate for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Add corn oil and vinegar to the yeast mixture.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and milk powder in another bowl.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and knead into a smooth dough.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Prepare the filling by mixing feta cheese, egg white, and chopped parsley.
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions.
Flatten each portion, add a spoonful of filling, and shape into buns.
Place the buns on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the buns with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
After baking, sprinkle with sesame and nigella seeds for decoration.
