Cheese Crescent Pastries
Ingredients
Dough
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 cup corn oil
- 1 cup warm milk
Filling
- 1 1/2 cups feta cheese
- 1 teaspoon nigella seeds
- 2/3 cup chopped parsley
Glaze
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon vinegar
Preparation
In a mixer bowl, place the flour, instant yeast, sugar, baking powder, and salt, attach the dough hook, and mix to combine.
Add the egg white, corn oil, and warm milk, and continue mixing until a smooth dough forms, adding more flour if necessary, then cover and let it rest.
Press on the dough to remove air bubbles.
Divide the dough into egg-sized balls and let them rest.
Roll out each ball into a disc.
Place some of the cheese filling in the center, fold one-third of the dough over the filling, then fold the second third, seal the edges, and roll to smooth.
Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet and bend it slightly to form a crescent shape, then cover and let it rise until doubled in size.
Brush the surface of the dough with the egg yolk mixture.
Set the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the oven to 200°C.
Bake the pastries for 15 minutes or until golden brown and serve warm.
In a bowl, combine the feta cheese, nigella seeds, and chopped parsley to prepare the filling.
