Decorated Pizza with Stuffed Edges
Ingredients
Dough
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons fine instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2/3 cup very warm water
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
Filling
- 1 package sliced hot dogs
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium sweet green pepper
- 6 sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons sliced olives
Preparation
In the mixer bowl, place the flour, add the yeast, salt, baking powder, sugar, water and oil, and attach the dough hook
Run the mixer until you have a soft dough
Knead for 4-5 minutes until you have a light and elastic dough, adding more flour if needed
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, then brush the surface with a little oil
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in a warm place until the dough rises and doubles in size, with rising time depending on temperature
Take one-third of the dough and cut it into 40 small balls, let the balls rest for a few minutes, flatten each ball slightly with your fingers and place a piece of hot dog in the center, wrap it like a ball again and set aside
On a floured surface, roll out the remaining dough with a rolling pin to a 9-inch disk and place the dough on an 11-inch tray to leave empty space around for the balls
Place the stuffed balls on the edges of the dough on the tray and let the tray sit aside until the dough doubles in size
Preheat the oven to 190°C and set the middle rack
Spread the pizza sauce on the dough and spread one-third of the mozzarella cheese, then distribute the remaining ingredients and sprinkle the remaining cheese
Place the pizza in the oven for 20-25 minutes until it turns golden and the cheese browns
Let it cool slightly before serving
