Pizza with Hot Dog Stuffed Dough Balls
Ingredients
Dough
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup very warm water
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
Filling
- 1 package hot dogs sliced
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium sweet green pepper
- 6 sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive slices
Preparation
In the mixer bowl, place the flour, add the yeast, salt, baking powder, sugar, water, and oil, attach the dough hook.
Mix until you get a soft dough.
Knead for 4-5 minutes until you have a light and elastic dough, adding more flour if necessary.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, brush the surface with a little oil.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in a warm place until the dough doubles in size. Fermentation time depends on the temperature of the place.
Take one-third of the dough and cut it into 40 small balls. Let the balls rest for a few minutes, flatten each ball slightly and place a piece of hot dog in the center, wrap it like a ball again and set aside.
On a floured surface, roll out the remaining dough with a rolling pin into a 9-inch disk. Place the dough on an 11-inch tray, leaving empty space around the dough for the balls.
Place the stuffed balls on the edges of the dough in the tray. Set the tray aside until the dough doubles in size.
Preheat the oven to 190°C and set the middle rack.
Spread the pizza sauce on the dough and sprinkle one-third of the mozzarella cheese. Distribute the remaining ingredients and sprinkle the rest of the cheese.
Place the pizza in the oven for 20-25 minutes until it turns golden and the cheese browns.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
