Georgian Rose Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup fine grain sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup dried rose
Sugar sauce
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon rose water
Decoration
- Dried rose petals
- A little red food coloring
Preparation
Place the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C.
Prepare shallow baking trays and line them with parchment paper.
In a food processor, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, butter, egg, and a few drops of rose water. Blend on medium speed until a smooth dough forms. Add dried rose and blend for a few seconds to mix.
Place the dough on parchment paper, shape it into a cylinder of desired thickness, and cut into approximately 5mm thick rings.
Arrange the biscuit rings on the trays, leaving 1 inch between them.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Serving suggestions
Mix powdered sugar and rose water to make a sugar sauce for drizzling or dipping.
Use dried rose petals and a little red food coloring for decoration as desired.
