Crispy Homemade Vegan Coconut Bacon
Ingredients
- 2 cups large flakes coconut
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil (or avocado oil)
- 1 Tbsp Maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp tamari
- 1 tsp mellow miso
- 4 dashes of liquid smoke
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- Cracked pepper to taste
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Use convection if available
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Whisk all sauce ingredients together in a large bowl
Add in coconut flakes and coat thoroughly
Spread evenly on the parchment-lined baking sheet
Bake for 7-9 minutes
Watch carefully to avoid burning
Tips
Liquid smoke can be adjusted; less is often better to prevent overpowering flavor
