Fresh Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Sesame

Ingredients

  • 250g fresh sushi grade tuna or cooked beetroot
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 lime
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp shichimi togarashi or chilli flakes
  • optional coriander

Preparation

  1. Peel and chop the avocado finely, add a squeeze of lime (and optional chopped coriander) and set aside

  2. Finely chop the tuna into small cubes

  3. In a bowl mix the oil, soy, lime juice, spring onions, chilli and sesame seeds to make the sauce

  4. Add the tuna to the sauce and mix well

  5. Using a mould, plate your tartare with a layer of avocado and then the tuna mix

  6. Sprinkle on a little more sesame seeds and chilli to serve

  7. Serve as it is or with some ryvita thins

  8. Enjoy!
