Fresh Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Sesame
Ingredients
- 250g fresh sushi grade tuna or cooked beetroot
- 2 avocados
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 lime
- 1 spring onion
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp shichimi togarashi or chilli flakes
- optional coriander
Preparation
Peel and chop the avocado finely, add a squeeze of lime (and optional chopped coriander) and set aside
Finely chop the tuna into small cubes
In a bowl mix the oil, soy, lime juice, spring onions, chilli and sesame seeds to make the sauce
Add the tuna to the sauce and mix well
Using a mould, plate your tartare with a layer of avocado and then the tuna mix
Sprinkle on a little more sesame seeds and chilli to serve
Serve as it is or with some ryvita thins
