Refreshing Jaggery Mint Lemon Summer Drink

Ingredients

  • 4.5 cups water
  • 2 tsp loose tea leaves or 2 tea bags
  • 1/3 cup jaggery
  • 2-3 mint leaves
  • 1/4 piece ginger
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 sprigs rosemary

Preparation

  1. In a large pan, add water, ginger, and tea leaves; bring to a boil until desired color and flavor is achieved, then remove from heat.

  2. Add jaggery and lemon juice; mix well until fully incorporated.

  3. Add mint leaves and rosemary sprigs.

  4. Strain the mixture using a strainer.

  5. Transfer to a pitcher or serve directly in glasses filled with ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves, rosemary sprigs, and lime slices.

  6. Note: This drink is healthy and can be stored in the fridge for later use. Jaggery is a natural sweetener rich in minerals like iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, which help replenish those lost through sweating in summer.
