Crispy Baked Tofu Preparation

Ingredients

  • Tofu
  • 1 heaping tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons oil or spray oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Wrap the tofu in a tea towel on a cutting board or a suitable surface, place a baking sheet and a heavy object on top, and leave for at least 2 hours.

  2. Cut the tofu into cubes.

  3. Toss the cubes with cornstarch, oil or spray oil, salt, and pepper.

  4. Bake in a 425°F oven for 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

  5. After removing from the oven, toss in your favorite sauce.

Tips

  1. Use a cast iron pan or similar heavy object for pressing the tofu.

  2. For sauce ideas, consider peanut sauce or other favorites; recipes may be found externally.
