Crispy Roasted Chickpeas with Indian Spices

Ingredients

  • 200g (7oz) canned chickpeas (Drained. Weight)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp sea salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder & garlic granules

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F/Gas6.) Drain the chickpeas, carefully pat them dry with kitchen paper, and transfer them to a bowl. Add the oil, garam masala, salt, pepper, garlic granules and onion powder and gently mix with your hands until the oil and spices are evenly distributed.

  2. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and spread the chickpeas over it so they lie in a single layer. Bake in the centre of the oven for 10 minutes, then turn. Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F/Gas7) and bake for a further 10-13 minutes. Leave to cool completely and they will crisp up.
