Easy Turkish Tray Pizza
Ingredients
Dough
- 380-400g flour (about 3-3.5 cups)
- 200ml lukewarm water
- 20g fresh yeast or 1/2 packet dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Tomato sauce
- 5 tablespoons finely chopped canned tomatoes or puree
- 1 clove grated garlic
- 1/2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 5 fresh basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- a bit of salt and pepper
Toppings
- Mozzarella cheese
- Desired ingredients as preferred
Preparation
In a bowl, mix water, sugar, and yeast until the yeast dissolves.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil, then knead until smooth and not sticky.
Cover the dough to prevent air exposure and let it rise at room temperature for about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients together.
After the dough has risen, spread it in a pre-greased tray or use baking paper.
Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, add mozzarella cheese, and arrange your desired toppings.
Bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat on the second rack from the bottom for 20-25 minutes.
