Turkish Minced Meat Pide
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1.5 teaspoons yeast
- Flour as needed, approximately 5 cups to achieve earlobe consistency
Filling
- 500 grams ground meat
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 4-5 hot peppers
- Half a bell pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste (optional)
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, combine milk, water, oil, yeast, sugar, and salt; stir to mix.
Gradually add flour and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
Cover the dough and let it rise for 40-50 minutes.
Meanwhile, finely chop all filling ingredients except the meat, then mix everything together.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each into a long oval shape.
Spread the filling over the dough, pressing lightly to distribute.
Shape the edges of the pide as desired.
Place on a baking sheet and brush the edges with egg yolk.
Bake in a preheated 190°C oven until golden brown.
