Oven-Bag Beef and Vegetable Bake

Ingredients

  • 500g red meat
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • A few sprigs fresh rosemary (dried optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • Red pepper flakes
  • 1 large potato
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 cups peas
  • Salt

Preparation

  1. Grate the onion and one clove of garlic into a bowl, then add the remaining garlic cloves whole

  2. Add the spices and oil, and mix well

  3. Cut the meat into cubes and add it to the mixture, stirring to coat

  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to marinate

  5. Chop the potato and carrot into bite-sized pieces

  6. Add the peas, chopped vegetables, and salt to the marinated meat mixture, and mix thoroughly

  7. Transfer everything to an oven bag, seal it, and poke a few holes in the top

  8. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes or until done

Notes

  1. Cooking time may vary; check for doneness to ensure the meat is tender
