Cheese-Topped Turkish Tas Kebab
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef
- 1 onion
- 2 medium potatoes
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 green peppers
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1.5 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups hot water (200 ml per cup)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Topping
- Plenty grated kaşar cheese
Preparation
First, cut the beef into cubes.
Cut the potatoes and carrots into similar sizes.
Chop the onion and green pepper finely and place the pressure cooker on the stove.
Add vegetable oil, add the beef, and sauté on medium heat for 3 minutes.
Then add the onion, pepper, and garlic.
Sauté for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Then add the potatoes, carrots, tomato paste, spices, and salt, and mix.
Sauté for 3 minutes, then add hot water and adjust salt to taste.
Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 10 minutes.
After cooling, open the lid and place in casserole dishes with the liquid, which makes 9 servings.
Add plenty of grated cheese on top and arrange in a baking tray.
Add a cup of water to the tray.
To prevent drying, place in a preheated oven at 235°C with top and bottom heat until the cheese is browned.
Remove from oven and serve with bulgur pilaf or plain.
Tips
Using a pressure cooker makes the cooking faster.
