Turkish Beef Sauté
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 500g diced beef
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 red bell peppers
- 4 green chilies
- Red pepper flakes
- Black pepper
- Hot water, enough to cover
- Salt
Preparation
Add oil and butter to the pan.
After the butter melts, add chopped onion and sauté.
Add the diced meat.
Cover the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat releases and absorbs its juices.
Add chopped tomatoes and chopped hot peppers.
Cover and continue cooking until the tomatoes release their juices.
Add red pepper flakes, black pepper, and garlic, and stir.
Add hot water to cover the meat, stir, and cover again.
Cook until the meat is tender.
Season with salt and stir.
Cook for another 5 minutes, then turn off the heat.
