Veggie Sausage and Bean Pitta Melt

Ingredients

  • 1 soft white pitta
  • Half a tin of baked beans
  • 3 vegetarian sausages
  • 40g extra mature cheddar
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper

Preparation

  1. Slice the sausages and cook them with the baked beans until thick, seasoning with sea salt and black pepper.

  2. Cut the cheddar into small cubes and mix it into the bean mixture at the last minute.

  3. Fill the pitta with the mixture.

  4. Bake in a hot oven for 5 minutes.

Tips

  1. Swap the white pitta for a wholemeal one if following a slimming plan.

  2. This version is about 90 calories more than a Greggs one but twice the size.
