Open Sausage and Bean Melt

Ingredients

  • puff pastry
  • half a tin of baked beans
  • vegetarian sausages
  • stripey Jack cheese
  • 1 egg

Seasonings

  • sea salt
  • chives
  • chilli flakes

Preparation

  1. Score the puff pastry around 2cm all round the edge.

  2. Prick the middle of the pastry with a fork.

  3. Fold the corners in and brush with beaten egg.

  4. Cut up the vegetarian sausages.

  5. Mix the sausages with half a tin of baked beans.

  6. Top the pastry with the bean and sausage mixture and stripey Jack cheese.

  7. Bake for 15 minutes.

Seasoning

  1. Sprinkle with sea salt, chives, and chilli flakes.
