Basic Herb Vinaigrette Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp maple syrup (substitutable with another sweetener)
- 1 tsp dry Italian spices
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 pinch black pepper
Preparation
Put all ingredients in a bowl, adding oil last while whisking, until slightly emulsified
Tips
For larger batches, maintain a 2:1 oil to vinegar ratio.
Classically, the ratio is 3:1 oil to vinegar, but this version is more punchy.
You can improvise by substituting flavored vinegars, different herbs, or infused oils.
Omit the crushed red pepper flakes if you do not like spicy food.
