Homemade Crispy Vegan Lentil Patties

Ingredients

  • 250 g red lentils
  • 2 tsp vegetable stock powder
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp smoked salt (or normal)
  • Pepper
  • 30 g oatmeal
  • 40 g whole grain spelt flour (or other)

Preparation

  1. Wash the lentils well and then boil them in approx. 500 ml broth for approx. 7 min, adding water if necessary. The lentils shouldn't be too soft or soggy.

  2. The excess broth remains in the pot.

  3. Roughly puree some of the lentils with a stick blender.

  4. Cut garlic and onion into small pieces and knead all the ingredients together.

  5. Form small patties with your hands; it works best with wet hands.

  6. Fry the patties crispy with a little oil in a well-coated pan.

  7. Serve with sauces or dips of your choice.
