Homemade Indonesian Black Pepper Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 150 ml broth
  • 1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water

Preparation

  1. Sauté garlic and onion in margarine until fragrant, then add oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce; stir well.

  2. Add broth, salt, and sugar; cook until boiling, then add black pepper.

  3. Pour in the cornstarch mixture, stir, taste and adjust seasoning, let it boil again, then remove from heat.
