Stir-Fried Black Pepper Chicken
Ingredients
- 400g chicken breast fillet
- 100g cornstarch
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 chicken egg
- Salt
- Black pepper powder
- 1/2 red bell pepper, cubed
- 1/2 green bell pepper, cubed
- 1 onion, cubed
Black pepper sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp coarse black pepper
- Mushroom stock as needed
- Salt
- Sugar
- Water as needed
- 1.5 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in water
Preparation
Cut the chicken into cubes, season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper, mix well, and let marinate for 30 minutes.
After marinating, mix with the egg. Coat each piece in cornstarch and fry until golden brown, then drain.
For the sauce, sauté garlic until fragrant, add water, then add all sauce ingredients except the cornstarch mixture, stir and check the taste.
Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened. Add the cubed bell peppers and onion, stir briefly, then add the chicken, mix well, and serve.
Tips
Fry the chicken with a thin coating of flour for the best texture.
Ensure the vegetables remain crisp by not overcooking them.
