Chicken in Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 whole rooster, cut into 6 pieces, parboiled and half-fried
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, smashed
  • 5 red bird's eye chilies, sliced
  • 6 tablespoons oyster sauce (Cap Panda brand)
  • 3 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 150 ml water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

Preparation

  1. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.

  2. Add oyster sauce, chili sauce, sweet soy sauce, water, chilies, and ginger. Stir well.

  3. Add the half-fried chicken and stir well. Taste and adjust seasoning. Cook until sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

  4. The dish is ready to serve.

Notes

  1. No additional seasoning or salt is needed as the oyster sauce provides perfect flavor.
