Tuna and Cheese Mayonnaise Sandwich Filling

Ingredients

  • 3 cans of tuna (in brine), drained and forked through
  • 100g hard cheese like Cheddar, Double Gloucester or Red Leicester
  • 1 small carrot finely diced
  • 4 - 5 cornichons (or 1 - 2 gherkins), finely diced
  • 5 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp salad cream (optional)
  • ground white pepper (to taste)
  • bread (or buns) to serve

Preparation

  1. Roughly chop the cheese and finely dice the carrot + cornichons/gherkins.

  2. Add the chopped veg to the tuna, add mayonnaise, salad cream (optional) + ground white pepper. Add more mayonnaise and salad cream if you want the filling to be creamier.

  3. Slather the filling onto buttered bread (or buns), serve and enjoy with a cold drink!

Tips

  1. If you don't like carrots or gherkins, replace them with finely diced pepper, sweetcorn or any other vegetable you do like.
