Simple and Delicious Chicken Rice

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Sesame oil (1/2 tablespoon for 4 cups rice or more, optional)
  • 4 cups rice
  • Chicken broth as needed
  • Soy sauce to taste
  • Oyster sauce
  • Honey

Preparation

  1. Boil chicken with salt as needed to obtain soup and for cooking rice

  2. Pound garlic and ginger then sauté until fragrant

  3. Add sesame oil as needed and mix well, this step can be skipped if not preferred

  4. Add washed and drained rice to the sautéed mixture and stir until well combined

  5. Pour in chicken broth as needed to cook the rice

  6. For white chicken, boil until half-cooked and add to rice when rice is almost done, then steam together until both are cooked

  7. For soy sauce chicken, boil with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey then toss and fry, or boil first and then marinate with soy sauce before frying

  8. Fry the chicken as needed, avoid overcooking to prevent it from becoming tough

  9. Adjust soy sauce and chili amounts according to personal preference

  1. Sesame oil quantity can be adjusted based on taste, and it is optional
