Steamed Rice with Free-Range Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 free-range chicken, choose young and cut into pieces as desired
  • 5 cups rice
  • 10 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
  • A piece of ginger, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons white wine (optional)
  • Water as needed
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for sautéing
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • Pandan leaves, knotted as needed

Toppings

  • Fried garlic
  • Fried shallots (optional)

Preparation

  1. Sauté garlic and sliced ginger until fragrant.

  2. Add chicken and sauté briefly, then add washed rice, stir and add salt, white wine, and sesame oil.

  3. Add water as needed and pandan leaves, stir well until water is absorbed, transfer to a container, and put into steamer.

  4. Steam until cooked and chicken is tender, then sprinkle with fried garlic for extra aroma.

Serving suggestions

  1. Serve with cucumber pickle.
