Best Vegan Pizza with BBQ Tofu and Vegetables
Ingredients
Dough
- 300g self-rising bread flour
- 1/2 cup warm water
Tofu
- Turmeric
- vegan Worcester sauce
- vegan BBQ sauce
- salt
- paprika powder
Toppings
- 1/4 yellow onion
- 1/4 red onion
- 100g-150g thinly sliced mushrooms
- 1 can Italian tomato sauce with herbs
- Vegan cheese (amount to taste)
Preparation
Make the pizza dough by adding a bit of warm water to the self-rising flour and mix with a hand mixer until dough-like consistency. Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rise for an hour.
Prepare the tofu by slicing it as thin as possible and seasoning it with turmeric, vegan Worcester sauce, vegan BBQ sauce, salt, and paprika powder to taste. Stir fry it in a pan with a little oil.
Add the tomato sauce; optionally, add garlic and onions to the sauce and stir fry it a bit as well.
After the dough has risen, shape it into a square or circle.
Spread the tomato sauce on the dough, then add the prepared tofu.
Add vegan cheese on top until mostly covered.
Cut a few onion slices and place them on top along with the mushrooms.
Bake the pizza in the oven at 180°C for around 20 minutes or until done.
