Crunchy Spiced Chickpea Avocado Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon mild chili powder
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • Bread slices
  • 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Mash the avocado with lime juice, salt, and pepper.

  2. Toast the bread slices until golden brown.

  3. Roast the chickpeas at 180°C/360°F for 20 minutes in olive oil until crunchy.

  4. Remove the chickpeas, toss them with the spices, and return to the oven for a few more minutes to absorb the flavor.

  5. Serve the spiced chickpeas on top of the toasted bread and mashed avocado, with a squeeze of lime on the side.
