Spiced Chickpea Avocado Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon mild chili powder
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • Lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bread slices

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C

  2. Mash the avocado with lime juice, salt, and pepper

  3. Toast the bread slices

  4. Roast the chickpeas in olive oil at 180°C for 20 minutes until crunchy.

  5. Remove the chickpeas, toss with the spices, and return to the oven for a few more minutes to absorb flavor.

  6. Serve the spiced chickpeas on top of the toasted bread with the mashed avocado and a squeeze of lime.
