Fig and Goat Cheese Focaccia with Honey
Ingredients
Dough
- 250 ml warm water
- 1/2 cube fresh yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g all-purpose flour
Topping
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 150 g goat cheese
- 5 fresh figs
- 1 handful fresh rosemary sprigs
- 1-2 tbsp honey
Preparation
First, dissolve the yeast in warm water.
Then, mix in the salt and olive oil.
In a mixing bowl, use dough hooks or a hand mixer to combine the mixture with the flour into a smooth dough. Knead for about 8 minutes until it is soft and sticky.
Cover the dough and let it rise at room temperature for half an hour. It should double in volume.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and carefully spread the dough on it.
Brush about 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the dough and let it rise again for 30 minutes. It should increase in volume again.
Preheat the oven to 200°C with top and bottom heat.
Drizzle another 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil over the dough and top it with goat cheese, sliced figs, and rosemary sprigs.
Bake the focaccia in the oven until golden brown, which should take about 15-20 minutes.
Finally, drizzle honey over the warm focaccia and enjoy it while still warm.
