Sticky Sweet Potato Fries with Tangy Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 sweet potato
  • 60ml ketchup or BBQ sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 60ml Japanese soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame seed oil
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Water (for thinning the sauce)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Peel and chop the sweet potato into fry shapes. Place them in cold water for 30 minutes.

  2. In a bowl, mix together ketchup or BBQ sauce, minced garlic, ginger, Japanese soy sauce, lime juice, chili flakes, sesame seed oil, oil, and some water to thin out the sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Add sesame seeds.

  3. Drain the sweet potato wedges and pat them dry. Place them in an air fryer set to 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes.

  4. After 10 minutes, pour the sauce over the sweet potato fries, mix well to coat, and continue air frying for another 10-15 minutes.

  5. Once cooked, top the sweet potato fries with your favorite veggies, guacamole, pickled onion, black beans, sweet corn, sour cream, etc.

  6. Enjoy your delicious sticky sweet potato fries!
