Chocolate Cake with Nut and Chocolate Decoration
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 160 grams chocolate
- 1 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups fine-grained sugar
- 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons ground nuts
Decoration
- chocolate
- white chocolate
- ground nuts
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170°C. Prepare a pan shaped like triangles or a 13x9 inch rectangular pan by greasing with butter. For a rectangular pan, flour it or line with parchment paper.
Sift the flour, salt, and cinnamon on a piece of parchment paper or in a deep dish and set aside.
In a small pot, place the chocolate and butter and melt over low heat with occasional stirring until smooth, without boiling.
In a deep bowl, place the eggs and vanilla and beat with a hand whisk until the eggs and sugar are well mixed and a light foam forms.
Add the flour mixture and stir a few times. Then add the chocolate-butter mixture and stir gently until smooth and creamy. Add the ground nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling it two-thirds full.
Bake in the oven for 22 minutes. Test doneness with a small wooden stick; it should come out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Cut the cake into triangles and place on a serving dish.
Melt the dark chocolate and use a piping bag to drizzle decorative lines over the triangles. Repeat with white chocolate.
Sprinkle ground nuts over the chocolate triangles and serve cold.
