Healthy Dahi Vada with Semolina Twist
Ingredients
- 1/2 bowl semolina
- Curd (equal quantity to semolina)
- Chopped green chilies to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- Salt to taste
- Water
- 1 teaspoon fruit salt
- Oil for greasing
Garnishes
- Sweet tamarind chutney
- Spicy coriander chutney
- Pomegranate
- Red chili powder
- Roasted cumin seeds powder
- Coriander leaves
Preparation
In a bowl, take semolina
Take curd in equal quantity to semolina
Add curd to semolina and mix well
Add green chilies to taste and mix
Add grated ginger and mix well
Add salt to taste and mix well
Add 1/4 cup water and leave for 5 minutes
Add 1 teaspoon fruit salt to make fluffy vadas
Add a little bit of water and observe bubbles forming
Grease an appam patra with a few drops of oil
Pour the vada mixture into the appam patra without filling it completely, as it will rise
Cook the vadas on both sides for 5 minutes in the shallow-fried method
In a separate bowl, mix thin curd with water and salt, then stir well
Soak the cooked vadas in the curd mixture for 5 minutes
Serve the dahi vada in a bowl
Top with sweet tamarind chutney and spicy coriander chutney
Add pomegranate on top
Sprinkle red chili powder and roasted cumin seeds powder
Garnish with coriander leaves
