South Indian Coconut Chutney
Ingredients
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Peanuts - 1/2 cup
- Roasted Chana dal - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies - 3-4
- Curry leaves - 5-7
- Coconut - 2 cups
- Coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
Tadka
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Dry Red chilli - 2-3
- Curry leaves - 5-7
Preparation
Grind the coconut, peanuts, roasted chana dal, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt, and water to make a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan for the tadka, add mustard seeds, dry red chillies, and curry leaves, and fry until fragrant.
Mix the tadka into the ground chutney mixture and serve with idli or dosa.
