Homemade Meat-Free Corn Dogs with Fries
Ingredients
- meat-free sausages (part cooked and allowed to cool)
- wooden sticks
- 125g fine cornmeal
- 125g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 beaten eggs
- 70ml milk
- 200ml buttermilk
- 50g melted butter
Preparation
Part cook the meat-free sausages and allow them to cool so the batter will stick.
Pop the cooled sausages on a stick.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix.
Pour the batter into a glass.
Dip the sausage into the batter, twisting as you remove it.
Wiggle it gently into hot oil and give it a couple of minutes then turn it.
Be careful with hot oil as it is dangerous.
