Fried Corn Dogs with Batter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup corn flour
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
For frying
- corn oil
Preparation
In a high-sided skillet, place corn oil to a height of about 5 cm and heat over medium heat.
In a deep bowl, combine the corn flour, flour, salt, baking powder, paprika, and cumin and stir to mix the ingredients.
In a large cup, whisk together the milk and egg until well combined, then add to the dry mixture and stir with a whisk until smooth.
Insert a wooden stick into the sausages to about halfway.
Hold a sausage by the stick and dip it into the batter, turning to coat all sides completely.
Fry the coated sausage in the hot oil, turning on all sides for 1 to 2 minutes until cooked and golden brown.
Remove the fried sausages and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil, then serve warm.
