Crispy Fried Mashed Potato Balls
Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 5 tablespoons milk
For frying
- corn oil
Preparation
In a deep pot, put plenty of water and add potatoes, then boil on medium heat until fully cooked. Peel the potatoes and mash them until smooth using a vegetable masher.
Take 1 cup of mashed potatoes and place in a deep bowl. Add flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, egg, and milk, then mix with a wide spoon until you get a cohesive homogeneous dough.
In a deep frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. Use a teaspoon to take some dough and drop it in the hot oil to form a ball. Make several balls at once and use a slotted spoon to turn until golden.
Place the balls on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve immediately.
