Crispy Fried Mashed Potato Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk

For frying

  • corn oil

Preparation

  1. In a deep pot, put plenty of water and add potatoes, then boil on medium heat until fully cooked. Peel the potatoes and mash them until smooth using a vegetable masher.

  2. Take 1 cup of mashed potatoes and place in a deep bowl. Add flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, egg, and milk, then mix with a wide spoon until you get a cohesive homogeneous dough.

  3. In a deep frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. Use a teaspoon to take some dough and drop it in the hot oil to form a ball. Make several balls at once and use a slotted spoon to turn until golden.

  4. Place the balls on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  5. Serve immediately.
