Crispy Fried Mashed Potato Balls
Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- a pinch of black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 5 tablespoons milk
For frying
- Corn oil
Preparation
In a deep pot, place a generous amount of water and add the potatoes, boil on medium heat until fully cooked. Peel the potatoes and mash them until smooth using a vegetable masher.
Take 1 cup of the mashed potatoes and place in a deep bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, egg, and milk, stir with a wide spoon until a cohesive and uniform dough forms.
In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium heat, use a small spoon to drop portions of the dough into the hot oil to form balls, make several at a time, and turn with a slotted spoon until golden brown.
Place the balls on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve immediately.
