Fried Spiral-Wrapped Hot Dogs
Ingredients
- 20 hot dogs
Dough
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup warm milk
Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon sumac
For frying
- corn oil
Preparation
In a mixer bowl, place flour, yeast, salt, sugar, oil, and milk, attach the dough hook and knead until smooth and homogeneous, cover and let it rise until doubled in size, then press it down and let it rest for a few minutes.
Divide the dough into small egg-sized balls and shape each piece into a rope about 20 cm long and 4/3 cm thick.
Take a hot dog and insert a long wooden stick into it.
Using a knife, cut the hot dog in a spiral shape while twisting it slightly during cutting.
Separate the edges of the hot dog to make it easier to attach the dough rope.
Wrap the dough rope around the hot dog, overlapping it as you go to create a nice shape.
Continue shaping the remaining hot dogs, ensuring the end of the dough is secured well.
Heat oil in a deep skillet and fry a few pieces at a time, turning gently until the dough is golden brown.
In a plate, mix coarse salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and sumac.
Remove the hot dogs from the oil, immediately sprinkle with the seasoning while hot, and serve immediately.
