Turkish Minced Meat Pide
Ingredients
Dough
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 3.5 to 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 100g minced meat
- 1 medium onion
- 1 small tomato
- 2 green peppers
- 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- cumin, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste
Preparation
In a deep bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar well.
Gradually add flour on top.
Add yogurt and salt, then knead after adding enough flour.
Let the dough rise for 1 hour on the side.
Meanwhile, prepare the minced meat filling by combining cubed onion, tomato, pepper, minced meat, and spices raw.
Divide the dough into 9 pieces.
Shape each piece into long ovals according to the tray size.
Add the filling on top, spread with hands, and close the edges.
Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden.
After removing from the oven, brush the edges with butter.
Notes
No frying is required for the filling.
