Banana Tart with Custard
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups ground biscuits
- 0.5 cups melted butter
- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons fine-grained sugar
- 100 grams melted chocolate
- 4 large ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Custard
- 3 cups milk
- 0.5 cups sugar
- 5 tablespoons custard powder
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Top layer
- 1.5 cups liquid cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 large ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Garnish
- Grated chocolate
Preparation
Adjust the oven rack to the middle and preheat to 180°C
Get a 9-inch tart or pie pan
In a deep bowl, mix biscuits, butter, cinnamon, and sugar with a fork until well combined
Spread the mixture in the pan and press with fingers to cover bottom and sides
Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool completely
Spread melted chocolate on the biscuit base
Slice bananas, toss with lemon juice, and spread over chocolate in the pan
For custard: In a deep bowl, mix milk, sugar, custard powder, and vanilla with a hand whisk until dissolved
Cook in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until it boils and thickens to a smooth custard then spread over bananas in tart pan
Refrigerate for several hours or overnight until custard sets
For top layer: In a mixer bowl, put cream, sugar, and lemon zest and whip on medium speed until cream thickens and doubles in volume
Spread the whipped cream over the tart
Slice bananas, toss with lemon juice, and spread over the cream
Sprinkle with grated chocolate and serve immediately
