Brazilian Cream Dream Doughnuts
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- pinch of salt
- 500 ml milk
- 1000 g all-purpose flour (plus more as needed)
Filling
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 liter milk
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For frying and coating
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Granulated sugar, for coating
- Ground cinnamon, for coating
Preparation
Dough
Place almost all the flour in a large bowl, then add the remaining ingredients alternating with the warm milk, knead well and add the rest of the flour if necessary until it does not stick to the hands
Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes, shape into small balls and let rise for about 30 minutes (a tip: place a small piece of dough in a glass of water; when it floats, it has risen)
Fry over low heat until golden brown
Filling
In a saucepan, combine all the filling ingredients, cook over medium heat stirring until thickened
Assembly
Roll the doughnuts in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, cut in half and fill with the cream
